Unlock your racing potential

It's time for a new challenge. All-electric street racing returns to the virtual world with a fresh new esports series - Formula E: Accelerate.

Kevin Siggy's guide to Tempelhof

ABB Formula E Race at Home Champion Kevin Siggy gives his walkthrough of the technical Berlin circuit:

Heading into the first turn complex, stay to the right side of the track, I always aim for the 100m board to brake, then roll the car into the first apex, using this speed and smooth steering to hit the second apex. You want to stay tight on the exit to prepare for turns two and three, another double apex corner, using the momentum rotate it into the second apex of the corner, missing the first one slightly.

There is a tricky braking point on the bumps into turn four so want to avoid locking up, making sure you nail the exit right for the back straight. Turn six offers another tricky braking zone. Don’t turn in too early, make the exit count as well and get it as wide as you can to the wall. Carry this speed for the quick flick at turn seven where no braking is needed.

Turn eight has a semi-late entry, allowing you to drift the car around the apex to set up for the small straight heading into the final corner. There are no clear braking markers, so feel for the right time. It is best to keep your entry early to stay on the grippy line and rotate the car mid-corner to get a fast exit and keep it tight to the finish line.

six races, the 24 fastest sim racers, one formula e drive

Formula E: Accelerate will see 24 of the fastest sim racers going head-to-head in a highly-charged six-race battle for the once-in-a-lifetime drive of a Gen2 car and a share of a minimum €100,000 prize pool. Formula E's teams are searching for the next generation of all-electric racing talent... Throw your driving gloves into the ring.

Formula E returns to the virtual world

Like in the Race at Home Challenge, Formula E will once again dive into the virtual world in rFactor2. This time, the digital racers will face new challenging features by having to master energy management and ATTACK MODE for the first time, bringing the online competitors even closer to trials faced by their real-world Formula E counterparts.

Formula E: Accelerate is a six-race competition that kicks off at the end of January and concludes in March at the Grand Final with double points on offer for the sim racing stars. The virtual races will take place at inch-perfect digital recreations of tracks from real world locations like Berlin's Tempelhof Airport, Hong Kong Harbourfront and Red Hook City in New York City, among others.
