2021 Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix

16 Jan 2021

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship kicks off another eagerly anticipated season with a double-header in Santiago, Chile. The race might be behind closed doors, but get ready for more electrifying action on the leafy streets of Parque O'Higgins.

Scorching action in Santiago

Against the spectacular backdrop of the Andes, it was Maximilian Guenther (BMW i Andretti Motorsport) who overcame the challenging hot conditions last season to score his first win in Formula E. The German reached the top step of the podium in style with a daring last-lap pass around the outside of Antonio Felix da Costa (DS Techeetah). It's a new season and with 24 challengers chasing the crown, reigning Champion da Costa will be looking to continue the dominant momentum that took him to the 2019/20 title.
